HyCompute is a Hytale mod that adds computers to the game. Initially inspired by ComputerCraft, the goal of HyCompute is to bring a first sense of automation without too much difficulty.
Currently, HyCompute is still very much work-in-progress and is currently not designed for survival. As such, there are little to no regular builds available. If you want to try out HyCompute for yourself, please ensure you are in Creative mode to have access to the items.
Current Features
- Lua scripting via Cobalt (the same Lua VM that powers ComputerCraft)
- Virtual filesystem (/rom, /home, /tmp)
- ROM is read-only
- Home is read-write
- Temporary files can be stored in /tmp
- Basic shell commands (ls, cd, cat, mkdir, rm, cp, mv, etc.)
Planned features
- Tiered computers
- Multiple tiers of computers with different capabilities
- Drone Workbench
- A place to create and upgrade drones and bugs
- Upgradeable drones and bugs
- Upgrades like a Mining Upgrade, which lets drones and bugs mine blocks
- More programming languages
- Possibility of adding more interpreted languages like Python or Haskell via extensions
